Introducing Moses Lake Chiropractor Dr. Richard Ribellia

Dr. Richard Ribellia

After suffering with neck and arm pain while playing football in high school and seeing several medical specialists over four years, I finally was encouraged to see a chiropractor by a teammate's father. You see I was hospitalized for four days when I was thirteen from a severe neck injury playing football. They suspected a neck fracture when I lost feeling of my extremities for a day.

After continuing to play football in high school and suffering with neck pain and "stingers," as it is described today, I was told the injury was in my head since medical tests and evaluations found nothing. Desperate for help, I went to see the chiropractor. He was the only doctor that told me with confidence he had found the underlying cause to my problem and that he could fix it. Being the eternal skeptic and knowing he was not a "real doctor" his words angered me. I could not believe he could make such a statement after a simple hands on exam and looking at the medical x-rays he requested. I didn't believe him; however, I was desperate for any help and stayed for care. It was after the first week that my innate sense told me, "Richard, we are getting well" that I was overcome with emotion by four years worth of frustration and pain. I vividly remember laying on his adjusting table and saying to myself, "I want to know what he knows because he proved to me that it was not in my head. I want to help others who were also being told it's 'in their head' when it isn't."

While seriousy dating Stacey, my wife, in college she asked what I wanted to become in life. After finding out about my desire, she arranged for us to visit her family chiropractor who proceeded to sell me on the merits of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. His excitement about being a chiropractor (his three sons are also chiropractors) and his love for his alma mater caused me to follow in his footsteps. I graduated from Palmer on June 10, 1978.

Because of my years of suffering before receiving chiropractic care, and subsequently being "saved" from a serious health problem, I have taken a vocational approach to my work. Chiropractic is an inside-out healing profession. My choice to become a chiropractor is an inside-out decision. I make no apologies to say that I am passionate about what I can do for people. It's true, I am - we all are - mortal, but affecting the God-given healing powers from within through releasing the nervous system flow by spine adjustments to correct chiropractic subluxations, miracles happen. I am often humbled by the innate healing powers of the human body when energy healing is allowed. Isn't being healthy godly?

Stacey and I have six grown children.  Two are Palmer chiropractors.  One daughter-in-law is also a Palmer chiropractor. Two other sons are studying towards becoming chiropractors, and a daughter is considering chiropractic as her profession.  They have been checked chiropractically since birth - for health and optimum function.  Our family lives the philosophy of natural health.  My children are now my doctors. Isn't that awesome for me to say?

I love working with my hands and seeing things transform because of it. Away from my practice I like to work with wood. I like to work in the yard keeping things green and manicured. I enjoy playing pool and racquetball. I love competitive sports. I like to attend workshops and seminars that are interesting about chiropractic and natural health. I find all of these relieving, fun, and stimulating.

It is a rare occasion that I go beyond three weeks before I get a chiropractic checkup. It's now all about wellness and quality of life through a healthy nervous system. My rebound exerciser is well used when I am unable to get out and walk to maintain my fitness and function. To keep being healthy simple, I steer towards eating whole foods, beef raised in my pasture, and fruits and vegetables purchased from the local farmer's market whenever possible. Keeping my nervous system healthy directly relates to a healthy immune system. You must know that drugs is not a part of my health protocol. It could be if I were severely injured.

In short, there is not a big secret to true health. Scientific evidence validates the "doctor within" when we use it correctly. Faith and hope is best practiced through utilizing God's gift for life, rather than man's inorganic concoctions. This is how I live and practice my profession.

I don't consider myself or my family special people. We are people who have embraced a way of life that is centered around a chiropractic philosophy. Thanks for visiting our site. I look forward to meeting you in person and learning how we may be of service to you.  Give our Moses Lake office a call, or email me using the link below and let's arrange a time to explore your options.
